Superfad was a design and production studio with offices in Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, and London. It was founded in 2001 by Geraint Owen and Will Hyde and joined in 2005 by Kevin Batten and Justin Leibow. Superfad began life as a small motion graphics company in Seattle in 2001. The company's name is a jab at the tendency of the design industry to chase trends and fads. The company expanded to New York in 2003 and an LA office was opened in 2005. In 2007, Superfad opened its first European office in London. Some of the most well-known campaigns Superfad has produced include Visa's 2008 Summer Olympics campaign, PlayStation 3's "Universe of Entertainment", Honda's "Crave", Durex's "Get It On", Diet Pepsi's "56 States", and Sprint's "What's Happening Now". In 2005, Superfad was awarded the prestigious Silver Lion at the Cannes Film Festival for their short film "The Best Cigarette", commissioned by The Sundance Channel. PlayStation 3 "Universe of Entertainment" and Target "Art Connects" won AICP Awards in 2008 and have been entered into the permanent collection at MoMA in New York. The viral spot, Durex "Get It On" received a gold Clio for Viral Marketing and a silver Clio for animation. It has also been honored with four AICP awards (Humor, Viral, Low-Budget, and Sound Design) as well as a Bronze Lion at Cannes 2009.
