TÉLUQ
TÉLUQ, or Télé-université, is a distance learning school at the Université du Québec founded in 1972. In addition to several undergraduate programs, including four bachelor's degrees, TÉLUQ offers two master's degree programs and one PhD program. Overall, TÉLUQ has a course offering of about 400 distance learning courses, including 100 graduate courses. TÉLUQ has about 70 professors and a budget of over $50 million. Though its head office is in Quebec City, about two thirds of its professors are in its Montreal offices. Further information can be found in the French version.
==Students==
It has over 20,000 students, more than half of them in the Montreal area.〔(TÉLUQ - Profil des étudiants )〕 Most students (71%) are females. About a third of all students (35%) taking courses at TÉLUQ are from other universities or in on-campus programs. Most students (64%) are between 20 and 34 years old. About a fifth of the student population (22%) holds a degree. Further information in the French version.
