Talikota

Talikota also Talikote is a town with a Town Municipal Council, in Bijapur district in the northern part of the Indian state of Karnataka.〔, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency〕 It lies on the left (north) bank of the Doni River and is about 85 kilometres to the southeast of Bijapur city. It is famous for the Battle of Talikota which was fought in 1565 and is having famous Khasgateswer temple which attracts the devotees from bijapur, bagalkot, yadgiri, raichur and Gulbarga districts and this town is having many educational institutes.
==Geography==
Talikota is on an upland plateau in the Western Ghats at an average elevation of 509 metres (1669 feet).
