Targumatik Targumatik is a machine translation program which was developed by the Israeli programmer Larry E. Smith. It is capable of automatically translating complete texts from English to Hebrew and vice versa. The current machine translation technologies and computer artificial intelligence still is not capable of translating text between languages without any mistakes and therefore Targumatik is not intended for users with no knowledge of Hebrew or English at all. Targumatik was planned first and foremost as a work tool for users who have a reasonable knowledge of English and Hebrew, to translate texts between English and Hebrew from Word processors, from Web pages or from E-mails, in order to prepare a preliminary draft in the target language, which they would be able to further edit and to improve. == Reception == The program has sold tens of thousands of copies and was considered as ground-breaking when it first appeared in 1988. Writing in ''CALICO Journal'', Don D. Anderson said that many problems with the software could be fixed by using machine-learning algorithms.
