University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, (variously called UT-Chattanooga, UTC, or Chattanooga)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Editorial Guidelines )〕 is a public university located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The University is one of three universities and two other affiliated institutions in the University of Tennessee System (UT System); the others being in Knoxville, Martin, Memphis, and Tullahoma.
== History ==
UTC was founded in 1886 as the then-private Chattanooga University, which was soon merged in 1889 with the Athens-based Grant Memorial University (now Tennessee Wesleyan),〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.utc.edu/about/utc-history.php )〕 becoming the Chattanooga campus of U.S. Grant Memorial University.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.twcnet.edu/about-twc/mission-history/ )
In 1907, the university changed its name to University of Chattanooga. In 1969, the university merged with Zion College, which was established in 1949 and became Chattanooga City College in 1964, to form The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as part of the UT System.〔()〕
