Thessalus
In Greek mythology, the name Thessalus is attributed to three individuals, all of whom were considered possible eponyms of Thessaly. *Thessalus, son of Jason and Medea and the twin of Alcimenes. He escaped being murdered by his mother and, after the death of Acastus, became king of Iolcus.〔Diodorus Siculus, ''Library of History'', 4. 54. 1 & 55. 3〕 *Thessalus, son of Heracles and Chalciope. He was the father of Antiphus, Pheidippus and Nesson.〔''Bibliotheca'' 2. 7. 8〕〔Strabo, ''Geography'', 9. 5. 23〕〔Homer, ''Iliad'', 2. 679〕 *Thessalus, son of Haemon.〔 ==References==
