Tlaltecatzin
Tlaltecatzin, according to some sources, was a son of the Aztec tlatoani Moctezuma II. In the Noche Triste, Night of Sorrows, he was taken out of Tenochtitlán as a prisoner with other Aztec noble men, also prisoners, one of them was his brother Chimalpopoca. The Aztecs killed Montezuma’s sons Chimalpopoca, Tlaltecatzin.
According to another source, Tlaltecatzin was a Tepanec prince who guided the Spaniards under Hernan Cortes, and was killed on the Night of Sorrows.〔León-Portilla, M. 1992, 'The Broken Spears: The Aztec Accounts of the Conquest of Mexico.'' Boston: Beacon Press, ISBN 978-0807055014〕
