Travelworm Incorporated was founded as a company that aimed to provide assistance to travelers who were making the drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The company’s original name was Best Reservations, Inc. From 1993–1997 Best Reservations’ primary marketing tools were advertisements placed in relevant newspapers, telephone directories, travel trade shows and the development of a vast network of travel agents that utilized Best Reservations / Travelworm to book hotel rooms in Las Vegas, Laughlin and Reno at discounted rates. Its staff functioned mainly as telephone reservations agents.
One of the early pioneers on the internet, Best Reservations launched its first website in August, 1995. At that time the internet was still in its infancy and even Yahoo! had only been around for little more than 6 months. Though the early website was used primarily to offer information and to generate calls to its offices, the landscape of how travel reservations were booked was about to undergo a major paradigm shift.
The company was quick to realize its potential however, and expanded into the internet with full online booking capabilities in 1997. As more travelers turned online to make their reservations a more powerful brand identity, conducive to the Internet was needed resulting in the well known Travelworm that was launched in 1999, followed by JetAway, a few years later.
