Trebartha
Trebartha is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, UK, in the parish of North Hill and in the valley of the River Lynher.〔Ordnance Survey ''One-inch Map of Great Britain; Bodmin and Launceston, sheet 186''. 1961.〕 ==History== The manor of Trebartha was recorded in the Domesday Book (1086) when it was held by Thurstan from Robert, Count of Mortain. There was half a hide of land and land for 4 ploughs. There were three and a half ploughs, 2 villeins and 6 smallholders. The value of the manor was 15 shillings.〔Thorn, C. et al., ed. (1979) ''Cornwall''. Chichester: Phillimore; entry 5,4,20〕 Trebartha Hall was in 1870 the residence of F. Rodd; it had formerly belonged to the families of Spoure and Trebartha.〔John Marius Wilson (''Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales''; 1870-72 ); Vision of Britain. Accessed 2015-02-16〕 It was demolished in 1949. Trebartha was in the possession of the Trebartha family from the 12th to the 15th century; from the late 15th century to 1730 it was held by the Spoure family and from 1730 to 1940 by the Rodd family.〔(Trebartha Hall ); North Hill Local History Group〕
