Tuaca

Tuaca ((:tuˈaːka)) is a brand of liqueur originally produced by the Tuoni and Canepa families of Livorno, Italy, and now produced by Brown-Forman of Louisville, Kentucky. March 31, 2010, marked the closure of Livorno's historic Tuaca plant.
The liqueur is sweet and golden brown in color. Its ingredients include brandy, essence of orange, and vanilla. Vanilla is the dominant flavor. It is bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).
==History==

The recipe supposedly dates back to the Renaissance. A legend claims that it was created for Lorenzo the Magnificent and rediscovered by Gaetano Tuoni and Giorgio Canepa in 1938.〔''(Tuaca ) official site''〕
The liquor was first created as ''Brandy Milk'' and it was produced with milk, brandy and vanilla.〔''From the newspaper (Il Tirreno ), July 14, 2011''〕 Later on, it was decided to not use the milk any longer and to change the liquor's name to ''Tuoca''. In the 1960s, thanks to an Italian living in California, Mario di Grazia, owner of a chain of liquor stores in San Francisco, the selling of the liquor started in the United States. After that, in order to make easier the pronunciation in English the name changed again to ''Tuaca''.〔''From the newspaper (Il Tirreno ), October 7, 2012''〕
