TvOS
TvOS (stylized by Apple as tvOS) is an operating system developed by Apple Inc. for their fourth generation Apple TV digital media player (which is currently the only device that runs TvOS). TvOS was announced on September 9, 2015 at the Apple September 2015 event. On October 26, 2015, fourth generation Apple TV pre-orders began, and shipments began the following week.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.macrumors.com/roundup/apple-tv/ )〕 tvOS is available in a beta form. There is only a developer beta though, unlike Apple Inc.'s other operating systems with a developer beta and a public beta. At the Apple September 2015 Event, Hipster Whale's Andy Sum demoed Crossy Road〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2015/ )〕 for the Apple TV and runs on tvOS. Apple, Inc. also announced other apps like Netflix are coming to the Apple TV (only fourth generation).
tvOS is based on iOS, as the "Apple TV software" for the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV was, but this is the first time Apple has given a name to the operating system on an Apple TV. The Apple TV 4th generation was announced on September 9, 2015 at the Apple September 2015 Event. Apple debuted the new name for the Apple TV Software, tvOS. They announced tvOS would be based on iOS 9. They also announced support for 3rd party apps. On October 30, 2015, The Apple TV 4th generation became available and shipped with tvOS 9.0. On November 9, 2015, tvOS 9.0.1 was released. This update was to address minor issues. tvOS 9.1, the first milestone update is in development by Apple.
On November 25, 2015, Facebook debuted their SDK for tvOS, allowing applications to log in to Facebook, share to Facebook, and use Facebook Analytics in the same way that iOS applications can.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://9to5mac.com/2015/11/25/facebook-apple-tv-login/ )〕
