Uashat-Maliotenam (or Innu Takuaikan Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam in Innu-aimun) is an Innu reserve in the Canadian province of Quebec. The reserve consists of two distinct settlements, Uashat and Maliotenam, located near the city of Sept-Îles. In the Canada 2011 Census, Uashat had a population of 1,485〔(Canada 2011 Census Community Profiles: Uashat ). Statistics Canada.〕 Approximately 700 additional members of the Uashat-Maliotenam band live outside of the communities, predominantly in Sept-Îles.〔(Uashat-Maliotenam ). Government of Quebec, ''Secrétariat aux affaires autochtones''.〕 Although the two communities are not contiguous to each other, being located at opposite ends of Sept-Îles, they are governed as a single political entity. Uashat is located immediately adjacent to the urban core of Sept-Îles, while Maliotenam is located adjacent to the more rural neighbourhood of De Grasse, east of the Sept-Îles Airport. Both communities have road access via Route 138. ==Politics== The current chief of Uashat-Maliotenam is Georges-Ernest Grégoire. The Innu of Uashat-Maliotenam and those of Matimekosh-Lac-John are represented in land claims negotiations by the ''Corporation Ashuanipi''.〔
