Ugbokhare
Ugbokhare is a village located in the northern part of Esan central local government, Irrua〔http://www.esancongress.org/culture.html〕 in Edo State,〔http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/edo/〕 Nigeria with its political zone in ward four. Ugbokhare〔http://www.esanunionofnortherncalifornia.org/files/Culture.doc〕 is about 20 to 30 minutes from the local government headquarters by car. Ugbokhare is surrounded by the villages of Udowo, Ewu, Ivue and Ibore. ==History== According to history the origin of the ugbokhare〔http://reclaimnaija.net/voters_register/?state_id=12&lga_id=221&ra_id=2553〕 people is traced back to another Nigerian village called Otuo. In the 14th to 15th century three brothers namely Uzebu, Eneghi and Edemia were said to have come from Otuo to farm on this land. As time went on they decided to build hurts close to their various farms lands, but later refused to go back home. Instead of returning to their village after farming season they decided to settle by bringing their various families〔http://www.nigerianbestforum.com/socialnetwork/profile.php?user=Ray2020y2k〕 down to this farm land for final settlement and people who saw and heard what these brothers have done said to one another look "ugbo-khayo-are" which means they said they came to farm, this was how the name ugbokhare〔http://ugbokhare.blog.com/2011/04/01/hello-world/〕 came into existence.
