UKEssays.com is an online provider of custom written essays, dissertations and other academic works. The site was founded by Barclay Littlewood and is trading name of All Answers Ltd, a UK company formed on November 14, 2003 (originally called Academic Answers Ltd until 2006). In July 2009 Littlewood stepped down as CEO and was replaced by the current CEO, Tony Eynon. UKEssays provides written work for those disinclined to research or writing to pass off as their own. Any student, at the academic progress levels to which UKEssays caters, who knowingly submits UKEssays' work as their own, commits the academic crime of Plagiarism, which is the "wrongful appropriation" and "stealing and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions" and the representation of them as one's own original work.〔From the 1995 ''Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary'': use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original workqtd. in 〕〔From the Oxford English Dictionary: the wrongful appropriation or purloining and publication as one's own, of the ideas, or the expression of the ideas… of anotherqtd. in Lands (1999)〕 In early 2010 the company relocated to new offices in Arnold, Nottinghamshire where they are still based as of May 2014.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Contact UK Essays - How to contact ukessays.com )〕 In addition to offering academic writing service the website also has a large amount of free to use content including sample essays and dissertations. ==Controversy== Since the website’s creation in 2003 there has been much controversy relating to the writing services that the website offers. In 2006 Independent Television News carried out an “undercover” investigation of the company but eventually concluded that the company lived up to the promises it made to deliver work of an appropriate academic standard. Later in 2006. In April 2010, ''The Sunday Times'' ran a front page article revealing their undercover investigation of UKEssays.com entitled “‘Essay factory’ offers 2:1 degree or your cash back”.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=‘Essay factory’ offers 2:1 degree or your cash back - The Sunday Times )〕 ''The Sunday Telegraph'' have also written about the work supplied by the company in an article titled “Students can buy an essay worth a 2:1”. In the article Bahram Bekhradnia, director of the Higher Education Policy Institute was quoted as saying “It is potentially very serious and undermines the whole fabric of higher education”. The CEO of UKEssays.com, Tony Eynon, responded to the comments saying “If you buy one of our model answers, it is no different from using journals, newspaper articles, Wikipedia or, indeed, the past paper answers that your own tutor hands out in lectures or seminars. They are just a very powerful learning resource but catered to your own topic.” 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「UK Essays」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
