Umudike
Umudike is a community in Abia State, Nigeria, about 10 kilometers southeast of Umuahia, the state capital. It is home to the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture and to the National Root Crops Research Institute The community is surrounded by other neighbouring villages which it shares it common beliefs and socio-cultural ethics with. This towns include; Umuariaga, Amaoba, Amawom, Nnono, Ndoro and Ahuwa. These towns accommodate about 50% of students from Michael Okpara University. The town is known for its popular 'Ekpe' festival which is held every January.
