Uppangala
Uppangala is the major panchayath village in Thallarevu mandal in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Uppangala has a historical background. The Sivalayam Temple in this village is very famous. The half cut tail of Nandi (Bull) idol has its history. A mythological story revolves around this village. In ancient times, Lakshmana after cutting off Surpanaka nose and ears he kept his sword on this Bull. Later, the tail was cut due its sharpness. Sri Ramalayam, Vishnalayam, and Polimalli Amma temples are famous with annual celebrations here. Recently, Uppangala got MVS Scheme so that this village was undergone its drought situation and started supplying water to neighbouring villages. Dowleswaram Left irrigation canal was passing along this village so this people are rich in Natural heritage. Davuluri Nageswara Rao, Vanga Adeppa, Koduri Satyam Babu etc. are some important persons born in this village.
