Uruvi is mentioned in the ancient Mahabharata epic as the third wife of famed warrior Karna. Uruvi was an accomplished Kshatriya princess of a royal family of Pukeya, born to King Vahusha and Queen Shubra. Uruvi was a rebellious princess who falls in love with Karna, one of the greatest warriors of his time but shunned by society due to caste, and decides to marry him against all difficulties. ==Swayamvara== Princess Uruvi’s swayamvara was well-attended with many brave kings, princes and noblemen of the country seated under the golden dome of the marriage hall. The hundred sons of Dhritrashtra were in attendance, as well as the five Pandava princes. Krishna was there with his elder brother Balarama, as were Dhrishtadyumna, King Drupad’s son, Karna with his friend Ashwatthama (the son of Guru Dronacharya), Sisupala, the King of Chedi, and Jarasandha, the King of Magadha. The venerated triumvirate of the Hastinapur royal court, Bhishma Pitamaha, Guru Dronacharya and his brother-in-law, Guru Kripacharya, the chief priest, were present to bestow blessings on the couple 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Uruvi」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
