Veeravasaram is a village located in West Godavari district. It was one of the old trade centers of British East India Company. During British regime it was a Taluq Headquarters town. Prior to the introduction of mandals, it was a part of Bhimavaram Taluq. Veeravasaram station is located on Bhimavaram–Narasapur branch line. Veeravasaram is also very nearer to Palakol. It is equidistant from Bhimavaram and Palakole. It is located on the main road between Bhimavaram & Palakol. APSRTC buses pass through Veeravasaram. Once a part of Veeravasaram Gram Panchayath Talathadithippa is birthplace for great freedom fighters like Veera Raghavalu Jakkamsetti. Veeravasaram is the birthplace of a great Telugu writer Chilakamathi Laxmi Narasimham, who wrote novels like Ganapathi. He also wrote poems against Colonial rule.
