Vertus
Vertus is a commune in the Marne department in north-eastern France. ==World War II== After the liberation of the area by Allied Forces in September 1944, engineers of the Ninth Air Force IX Engineering Command began construction of a combat Advanced Landing Ground southwest of the town. Declared operational on 5 September, the airfield was designated as "A-63", it was used as a transport base until October when the unit moved into Central France. Afterward, the airfield was used for resupply and casualty evacuation before being closed in May 1945.〔Johnson, David C.
