The song in the ''chanson'' style, popular in the early years of the Contest. Mendes sings about his feelings at the end of a summer, which he describes as "a dream that ended" but seems unwilling to discuss further. He adds, however, that summer will always return, a thought which seems to cheer him. The song was performed first on the night, preceding the Netherlands' Ronnie Tober with "Morgen". At the close of voting, it had received 5 points, placing 11th in a field of 17.
