Vessyl
Vessyl is a drinking glass announced in 2014, with embedded sensors and the capability of linking to a smartphone to provide its user with nutritional and other data on the beverage contained. The cup is expected to recharge via inductive charging on a proprietary base station. Industrial designer Yves Béhar was involved in its creation. Originally, the device was expected to ship in "Early 2015", however in March 2015 the designers announced that the shipping date would slip to "early Q4 2015". ==Reactions== Vessyl was lampooned on ''The Colbert Report'' and by Bill Maher who said on his television show that the cup is smarter than its users. John C. Dvorak said in his ''PC Magazine'' column that "Buying into this techno travel mug is just asking to be fleeced by the so-called 'Internet of Things.'"
