''Vinckeia'' is a subgenus of the genus ''Plasmodium'' - all of which are parasitic protozoa. The subgenus ''Vinckeia'' was created by Garnham in 1964 to accommodate the mammalian parasites other than those infecting the primates.〔Garnham P.C.
