Vācaspati Vachaspati (' "lord of Vāc (speech)") is a Rigvedic deity presiding over human life. The name is applied especially to Brhaspati, the lord of eloquence, but also to Soma, Vishvakarman and Prajapati. ==Other uses==
* Vachaspati is also term for an orator in the Bhagavata Purana, and the name of a rishi, a lexicographer, a philosopher, and others. * Vachaspati is also the name of a poet, ''prasasti'' (panegyric) to Bhavadeva Bhatta. He is also called ''Vachaspati Kavi'' (poet Vachaspati) to distinguish him from the Sanskrit scholar Vachaspati Misra. * For the Indian classical music raga, see Vachaspati (raga).
