WTBS-LP and WTBS-LD is a low-power TV station on TV channels 6 (analog) and 30 and PSIP channel 26 (digital) in metro Atlanta. The city of license is Atlanta, and the analog transmitter and antenna are located in downtown Atlanta atop the American Tower Site located at 315 Chester Avenue, Atlanta. The digital station, which signed on in early January 2011, is located just northeast of the city on one of the two large towers on Briarcliff Road, along with its sister station WANN-CD which is also located at the same site along with WPCH-DT Channel 17 the Superstation, Channel 34 Univision, Channel 46 PBS, Channel 63 Trinity Broadcasting which is the broadcast site for several other stations.
WTBS-LD currently broadcasts six television networks and is owned by Prism Broadcasting since 1991.
In 2014, the analog WTBS-LP has reappeared under special temporary authority on TV channel 6 which also broadcasts on 87.75MHz of the FM dial. All analog television channels were scheduled to cease broadcasting in Sept. 2015, however the FCC has recently extended the analog conversion date which will allow channel 6 and 87.75MHz to continue to broadcast indefinitely. Analog channel 6 is currently broadcasting "La Mega Mundial" music audio and video on channel 6 and stereo audio on 87.75 FM radio which is the first FM station on the FM radio dial.
==History==
It was originally W56CD in Rome, Georgia, then became W26BT, then WANX-LP in January 2000, and finally WTBS-LP on October 15, 2007.
WTBS-LD also has a digital companion channel on virtual channel 26, RF channel 30 which broadcasts six television networks with an omni-directional pattern at maximum power allowed by the FCC.
