WNDZ
WNDZ (750 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a brokered programming format. Licensed to Portage, Indiana, USA, it serves the Chicago area. The station is currently owned by Newsweb Corporation. WNDZ operates as a daytime-only station. ==History== It began when radio entrepreneurs Tom Jurek of WRIN, Rensselaer, and Annie Rose, a noted psychic, sold the frequency they found to begin a Merrillville, IN radio station to Universal Broadcasting out of New York, who were interested in starting a religious formatted station. It began broadcasting in March 1987 as a day-time only station, with Rick Schwartz as its first General Mangager. The business office and studios were located in Lansing, Illinois.They are currently on Pulaski Road in Chicago.〔http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Wndz-Am.Main.Studio.773-767-1000〕 Prior to the sale to Newsweb Corporation in 2004, the station was owned by Spanish broadcaster Entravision. The format has remained brokered for many years, even during the time it was owned by Entravision. WNDZ was also for a time home to the "Personal Achievement Radio Network" and continued to air recorded programming from this network after its demise as a filler.
