WNIS is a News/Talk/Sports formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Norfolk, Virginia, serving Hampton Roads. The first talk radio host to launch the new format was Gordon Hammett, a New York veteran with more than 40 years in the industry with stints that included WNBC, WMCA, and WNEW. He started the Tidewater Talkers for his loyal listeners while introducing a wide variety of guests that ranged from Sen. John Warner to Al Goldstein. WNIS features syndicated programming from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Neal Boortz, as well as Coast to Coast with George Noory, news reports from Fox News Radio, and business reports from The Wall Street Journal.
