WUMN-LP
WUMN-LP is a Spanish-language television station in the Twin Cities market, and is the only Univision-affiliated in the state of Minnesota. WUMN-LP is the Univision-affiliated television station for the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area and is licensed to Minnesota. It broadcasts a low-power analog signal on channel 13 from a transmitter located on the Campbell Mithun Tower in Downtown Minneapolis. Owned by Media Vista Group, LLC, WUMN-LP maintains studios located on 527 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis. This station can also be seen on Comcast channel 99, Mediacom channel 23, and Charter Communications 42, 63 or 71.〔(Univision Minnesota Website ), Univision Minnesota Information.〕
==History==
WUMN began its broadcasting operation in 2005 as a low-powered station. In January 2005, after Equity Media Holdings's purchase of channel 13, the station was re-called WUMN-LP, to reflect its new Univision affiliation.〔(FCC Licensing ), FCC Licensing Website.〕
WUMN was sold to SP Television on June 2, 2009. The sale closed on August 17, 2009.〔(FCC ), FCC Website.〕 SP Television reached a deal to sell WUMN to Media Vista Group on December 21, 2012.
On October 29, 2013 WUMN was granted a construction permit license by the FCC to transition its broadcast signal to digital on UHF channel 17, formerly occupied by the analog signal of KTCI.〔 At the time WUMN was the last television station broadcasting an analog signal in the Twin Cities market.
