WVOG
WVOG (600 AM, "Gospel 600") is a traditional Gospel radio station serving New Orleans, Louisiana. The station, whose call letters stand for "The Voice Of God", is owned by F.W. Robbert Broadcasting, Inc. and operates at 600 kHz with 1,000 watts day and 31 watts night. The Studios of WVOG are located at 2730 Loumor Avenue in Metairie, Louisiana 70001. ==History== The station was originally R&B outlet WMRY in the 1950s. By the 1960s the WMRY call sign and programming moved over to 940 AM and became the current WYLD. After it switched signals the frequency was acquired by Dave Waagenvord and was launched as WWOM (Wonderful World of Music) with a beautiful music format. They were also the sister station of WWOM-TV at the time. In 1970 F.W. Robbert Broadcasting bought the station and flipped it to its current format.
