Warabi-shuku
was the second of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō. It is located in the present-day city of Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, approximately 19km from the starting point in Nihonbashi.
==History==
Warabi was originally built up as a castle town during the Sengoku period for the Shibukawa family. During the Edo period, it became a post town along the Nakasendō. At its peak, it had a population of 2,223 people, with 430 homes, two ''honjin'' and one secondary ''honjin''.〔(Nakasendō Warabi-shuku ). Warabi Shiseki Tanbohkai. Accessed July 17, 2007.〕
