Founded in 1996 by Jeff Antebi, Waxploitation is a record company, artist management company and music publisher.

Waxploitation managed Danger Mouse's producing career from 2004 to 2010, an era during which he produced albums by The Black Keys, Beck, and Gorillaz, as well as the infamous Grey Album.

In 2012, Waxploitation Records began releasing albums by Electronic Latin American artists through a joint venture with the ZZK label, with artists including La Yegros, Chancha Via Circuito, and Mati Zundel, as well as the critically acclaimed ''Future Sounds of Buenos Aires'' compilation.
The 2013 release schedule includes the debut album ''Lumen'' by Thievery Corporation alumna Natalia Clavier and Brazilian heavy baile artist Leo Justi, best known for his work with MIA.
