Wielton
Wielton SA is a Polish manufacturer of tippers and tautliners for traction units. The company is one of the biggest producers of trailers and market leader in Central- and Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia.
== History ==
The company was founded two years after the democratic transition of Poland. In the first years, the main object of business was to satisfy the growing demand for utility vehicles. In 1996 the company started its own production line, ten years later it went public on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Since 2012 the company operates a second assembly plant in Saint Petersburg.
In 2014 the company took over its competitors ''Italiana Rimorchi'' and ''Fruehauf France''. The business group belonging to it, besides includes four further subsidiary firms in the sales and logistics sector. ''Wielton'' sells its products to countries like Germany, Belgium or Austria by means of commercial agents and partner dealers. In Africa, the company also has customers, especially in Gambia and Burkina Faso.
