Xenoandrogen : ウィキペディア英語版 | Xenoandrogen Xenoandrogens are a group of artificially created compounds with properties similar to human steroid hormone testosterone and its derivatives. Xenoandrogens currently known include modified tocopherols and tocotrienols, modified nicotinamides as well as toxic tributyltin, triphenyltin,〔Genotoxic effects of binary mixtures of xenoandrogens (tributyltin, triphenyltin) and a xenoestrogen (ethinylestradiol) in a partial life-cycle test with Zebrafish (Danio rerio); J. Micael, M.A. Reis-Henriquesa, A.P. Carvalho, and M.M. Santos; Environment International, Volume 33, Issue 8, November 2007, Pages 1035-1039〕 and methyltestosterone (MT) ==Discovery of non-toxic xenoandrogens== Xenoandrogens have been previously referred to in negative connotations only, especially as endocrine disruptors of marine life-forms. Non-toxic xenoandrogens were first described in 2008 by Professor I. Morishita of Kyoto University and his team.〔Morishita I, Okubo K, Mizuno Y, Sawada M, "Stimulation of androgenic receptors and protein synthesis by altered all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate in mammals". J Steroids Hormon Sci 2008, 10.4172/2157-7536.1330104〕 Their scientific paper described how modified all-rac-alpha-tocopheryl acetate stimulates the AR receptor in several mammal species. Several other academic teams followed the lead of Morishita and discovered more on the pharmacokinetics of these compounds.
