RThe Xuereb surname is quoted by author Charles A. Gauci in his book ''The Genealogy and Heraldry of the Noble Families of Malta''. The author writes that the earliest references of this family go back to 1517 with Tommeo Xuereb mentioned as "Nobile" or "Noble". Gauci gives us also the Coat of Arms of the family, but tracing the origin of the name is very difficult, even if we have some indication for the name to be of Central European origin. Although it is not excluded that its origins are from Spanish Xueres or Suarez or North African Xwarib. The fact that the Coat of Arms shows two Moors' heads could also signify that the Xuerebs distinguished themselves in the fighting against the Muslims, participating to the crusades: this fact would give to this family a much earlier origin. ==Notable modern/contemporary Xuerebs== * Aaron Xuereb (born 1979), footballer * Alfred Xuereb (born 1958), Catholic cleric, Vatican official * Brad Xuereb, twin of Dean Xuereb, kickboxer * Daniel Xuereb (born 1959), French footballer * Dean Xuereb, twin of Brad Xuereb, kickboxer * Derry Xuereb * Emmanuel Xuereb (born 1965), twin of Salvator Xuereb, actor * Gabriela N (born 1993), Maltese singer-songwriter * Karen Xuereb, actress * Lyona Xuereb, Maltese producer * Martin Xuereb (born 1968), Commander of the Armed Forces of Malta * Paul Xuereb (1923–1994), Maltese politician * Raymond Xuereb (born 1952), footballer * Rodrick Xuereb, American physician * Ruben Xuereb, actor * Salvator Xuereb (born 1965), twin of Emmanuel Xuereb, actor * Sephora Xuereb (I), make up artist * Sephora Xuereb (II), make up artist * Sephora Xuereb (III), make up artist * Vanessa Xuereb 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Xuereb」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
