The movement began to emerge early 2013, where Kurds are mostly inhabited in many cities and towns. The movement started to spread rapidly during the solution process. Large presence in Sirnak province of Cizre, unlike other Kurdish inhabited areas there has been calls for autonomy for the Kurdish people living in occupied Kurdistan. This event has led to major clashes between government forces and the YDG-H including operations to arrest members. Other objectives of the YDG-H include clearing all activities of prostitution, drugs and other similar related activities out of Turkish Kurdistan.
