Yopougon , also known colloquially as 'Yop City', is a town and commune in Côte d'Ivoire. With an estimated population of over 2,000,000, it forms a large part of the conurbation of Abidjan. It covers most of the western territory of Greater Abidjan. The city is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Yopougon. The diocese's cathedral is the Cathédrale Saint-André in Yopougon. Olympic Burkinabé swimmer Adama Ouedraogo was born here in 1993.
