Zeneva are an American-based music act generally accepted as the founders of the alternative Latin electronic scene. Initially formed in San Francisco, California, in 2002, the band's lineup has changed numerous times since its formation, as has its name. Current personnel are Jason Ardiles, Paulo Presotto, Ryan Meblin, Max Savage, and bassist "boost". ==Band history== Zeneva, as we know them today, performed under the name Zire for the greater part of their careers. However, in late 2006, the band received a cease and desist order from the Palm Corporation and were forced to rethink the group's name. The title of Zeneva was found to be suitable, and has been said to be metaphoric for their rebirth as an act. Earlier that year, as Zire, the group performed to increasingly positive praise and growing crowds. The attention earned them a spot as the house band for the Canvas Gallery, a popular art gallery/music venue in central San Francisco. After several months of residency at the venue, they were approached by a handful of managers and talent coordinators. Their fanbase grew, as did their ambition. The band, as advised by their newly hired management, painfully parted ways with their best friend and drummer, Steve Horgan (now of Two Left Feet). Daniel Arruda, a tour-proven Brazilian drummer was his replacement. Zire spent several months rehearsing with their new lineup and perfecting their performance. During this time, however, the group discovered that their new manager was conspiring to steal and leak their music. They were forced to fire him. Daniel, their new drummer, left the group soon thereafter. The band had to change if they were to continue their careers. Electronic musician Ryan Meblin was recruited as a fill-in for their nonexistent drummer, and Zeneva was created in the summer of 2007.
