Ziemowit (zhe-MAW-veet) - is a Polish male given name of Slavic origin, a corrupted version of name Siemowit which is derived from words: "Siemo" - family and "wit" - ruler, to rule. The name may mean: "The head of the family". Nicknames: Ziemko, Ziemek.
