Ziway or Zway is a town and separate woreda in central Ethiopia. It is located on the road connecting Addis Ababa to Nairobi in the East Shewa Zone of the Oromia Region of Ethiopia, Ziway has a latitude and longitude of with an elevation of 1643 meters above sea level. Adjacent to Lake Ziway (Lake Dambal), the economy of the town is based on fishing and horticulture. Ziway is also home to a prison and a caustic soda factory. The 2007 national census reported a total population for Ziway of 43,660, of whom 22,956 were men and 20,704 were women.
