Sulechów

Sulechów ((ドイツ語:Züllichau)) is a town in Poland, in Lubusz Voivodeship, in Zielona Góra County. It is the administrative seat of the Gmina Sulechów.
==History==

Settlement in the area goes back to the 4th century. In the 10th century the area was part of the realm of Mieszko I of Poland.
From 1138 on it was part of the Duchy of Silesia, and then the splinter Duchy of Głogów.〔
The settlement was mentioned in 1319, when Margrave Waldemar of Ascania had conquered Sulechów for Brandenburg. Waldemar however died in the same year, and the locality fell back to the Piast Duchy of Głogów.〔(Sulechów - Internetowy Serwis Miejski )〕
In 1482 Duke Jan II the Mad ceded Züllichau together with the neighboring town of Krossen to Brandenburg under Elector Albert III Achilles. It was part of the Neumark district since 1537. From 1815 it belonged to the Prussian province of Brandenburg. In 1945 it fell to Poland with the implementation of the Oder-Neisse line according to the Potsdam Agreement.
