astropolitics

Astropolitics, also known as astropolitik, has its foundations in geopolitics and is a theory that is used for space in its broadest sense.
Astropolitics encompasses Astropolitik, astrostrategy, and astrographics.
==In political science==

Astropolitics is often studied as an aspect of the security studies and international relations subfields of political science. This includes the role of space exploration in diplomacy as well as the military uses of satellites, for example, for surveillance or cyber warfare. The Star Wars program under Reagan is one of the most frequently written about topics in astropolitics. Astropolitics has often been studied in its historical context as an aspect of the Soviet-American rivalry of the Cold War (particularly in the form of the Space Race), though it is also a frequent topic in studies of the diplomatic, military or geopolitical aspects of contemporary Sino-American relations.
