A continuant is a speech sound produced with an incomplete closure of the oral vocal tract. Among consonants, there are two broad categories of continuants: fricatives and approximants.〔"continuant" in Bussamann, ''Routledge dictionary of language and linguistics'', 1996〕 Approximants are sometimes called "frictionless continuants".〔"approximant" in Crystal, ''A dictionary of linguistics and phonetics'', 6th ed, 2008〕 Compare sonorant (resonant), which includes approximants and nasals but not fricatives. Both terms technically include vowels, but are frequently restricted to the context of consonants. ==See also== * List of phonetics topics * Obstruent * Schwa * Spectromorphology 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「continuant」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
