duetting
To duet is the verb derived from the noun duet, and means to perform a duet,〔Oxford English Dictionary 2nd ed. Example cited: "As accordantly coupled..as a drum duetting with a bass-viol."〕 a musical composition for two voices or two performers.
The verb and its participle ''duetting'' are often used to describe animal communication, where the male and the female of a species, especially birds, communicate by singing. This may be used as a warning, a mating call or for any other purpose.
