''Flaviviridae'' is a family of viruses. Humans and mammals serve as natural hosts. They are primarily spread through arthropod vectors (mainly ticks and mosquitoes). The family gets its name from Yellow Fever virus, a type virus of ''Flaviviridae''; ''flavus'' means yellow in Latin.
