the3six5

The3six5 is a global collaborative storytelling project created by Len Kendall and Daniel Honigman.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/the3six5 )〕 It started on January 1, 2010 with the idea to create a crowdsourced journal of the year from the perspective of 365 individuals from around the world. The project is in its third year.
Volunteers from all corners of the world pick a date based on availability. Every day of the year, a different person writes a 365-word entry about his or her experience and thoughts from that day. Volunteers come from all walks of life and include news anchor Ann Curry,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/october-2-2010-ann-curry )〕 advertising legend Alex Bogusky,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/november-5-2010-alex-bogusky )〕 ''The Onion''’s web editor Baratunde Thurston,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/june-18-2010-baratunde-thurston )〕 interestingness curator Maria Popova,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/february-9-2010-maria-popova )〕 online performance artist, composer and humorist Ze Frank.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/january-1-2010-ze-frank )〕 and Chicago-based celebrity chef Rick Gresh〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/august-25-2010-rick-gresh )〕 Many of the posts exist at the intersection of history and biography as they share how world events relate to individuals.
Volunteers can participate in the project only once.
In 2011, the3six5 was nominated for a Webby Award in the category of personal blog/website.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.webbyawards.com/webbys/current.php?season=15#webby_entry_personal_blog_website )〕 The same year, 12 editors were selected to manage the project on a daily basis for a month. The 12 editors were Daniel Timothy Edmundson, Jessica Mahajan, Dan Weingrod, Amanda Miller, Tim Dreyer, Mary Myers, Jenn Zuko Boughn, Bill Green, Stephanie Florence, Jose Callejas, Andreana Drencheva and Helene Kwong.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/the3six5-2011-editor-list )〕 The editors for 2012 are Andreana Drencheva, Jessica Mahajan, Karen Hong, Peter Combs, Christianne Weaver, Amanda Kasper, Jose Callejas, Tim Dreyer, John Pajarillaga and Marcus Gilmer.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5.posterous.com/the3six5-2012-editor-list-finalized )
Volunteers in Chicago launched a local edition of the3six5 in 2011.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://chicagonow.beta.tribapps.com/the3six5-chicago/2011/01/welcome-to-the3six5-chicago/ )〕 Local editions of Denver〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5denver.com/ )〕 and Sinclair〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://the3six5sinclair.com/ )〕 followed in 2012. The local editions create snapshots of the year from the perspective of 365 individuals from their local communities.
