Çənlibel
Çənlibel (also, Chardakhlu, or Khachisar) formerly Armenian village, that is now municipality in the Shamkir Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 3,047. ==History== At the times of Russian Empire there was Armenian village of Yelizavetpol district of Yelizavetpol province. According Caucasian Calendar for 1908, the entirely Armenian village of Khachisar had a population of 1,862 people.〔Кавказский календарь 1908 год. Тифлис. II. Статистический отделъ. стр 101〕 It was prominent as birthplace of many heroes of Great Patriotic War. 1250 inhabitants of the village went to the German frontline. Half of them, were awarded orders and medals, two became marshals (Hamazasp Babajanyan and Hovhannes Bagramyan), twelve became colonels, seven became Heroes of the Soviet Union.〔(Маршал из Чардахлу )〕 By September and October 1987, the first secretary of Shamkhor district committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan M. Assadov comes into conflict with the inhabitants of Chardakhly in connection with the protests of the villagers against the replacement of Armenian farm manager by Azeri one.〔(Письма жителей села Чардахлу Генеральному прокурору СССР )〕 The conflict was inflated to massacre of peaceful Armenian population of the village.〔 ()〕 This events cause meatings and anti-Azerbaijani demonstrations in Yerevan.〔(Би-би-си. Карабах: хронология конфликта )〕 By the end of November 1988 all the Armenians living in Chardakhly, were massacred or expelled from the village.〔(Родина красных волкодавов )〕
