It was part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Ljubljana municipal site )〕 ==Name== Črnuče was attested in written sources in 1322 as ''Zternutss'' (and as ''Zernushez'' in 1345, ''Zernuch'' in 1362, and ''Zarnusch'' in 1439).
