Židovar is an archeological site〔Božič 1984, fig. 3〕 and settlement near Vršac, Serbia. ==History==
The earliest findings is of the Bosut-Basarabi culture dating to 9-8th century BC.〔http://www.balkaninstitut.com/pdf/izdanja/balcanica/balcanica%2035/01%20Tasic.pdf〕 Finds of the La Tène that span from the 2nd century BC until the 1st century AD, mostly pottery, accessories (jewelry, fibulae) and weapons are of mostly Scordisci work, since their higher presence after the Celtic invasions in 279 BC, although a significant 10% belongs to the earlier Getae-Dacian cultures, results of co-existence and trading between the two peoples. The remains of the Scordisci fortifications with ditch and defense vallum makes the site of special importance.〔http://arheologie.ulbsibiu.ro/publicatii/bibliotheca/acta%20V%20special%20number/915dacian.htm〕〔Popović 2000, p.83-111〕 In 1990, Židovar was added to the Archaeological Sites of Exceptional Importance list, protected by Republic of Serbia.
