テンゲ（カザフ語：、ラテン文字表記：Tenge）は、1993年11月からルーブルに替えて使用されているカザフスタンの通貨単位。国際通貨コード(ISO 4217)は、KZT。補助通貨はティイン（、tiyin）で、1テンゲ=100ティイン。通貨記号は〔Everson, Michael. 2008. Proposal to encode the Kazakh TENGE SIGN in the UCS 〕。 The word tenge in the Kazakh and most other Turkic languages means a set of scales (cf the old Uzbek tenga or the Tajik borrowed term tanga). The origin of the word is the Turkic teŋ- which means being equal, balance. The name of this currency is thus similar to the lira, pound and peso.
